RCA Radiola III Radio | |
Updated May 31, 2007 | |
| The Radiola III was made in 1924 and is a 1 tube regenerative receiver and has a 1 tube audio stage. I have what I believe is the earlier version which only has 4 tubular capacitors; newer versions are labeled R-1. I have replaced the transformer with a replacement from Hammond and have had the tubular capacitors rebuilt by Joseh Mente. I also have tube adaptors that allow me to use 1A5 tubes. The only modification is that a 5.1 ohm resistor is added so the 1A5 tube draws similar filament current as the original WD-11. | |
