| Here is my German VE 301W Volksempfänger Radio. This radio was made in 1933. The VE stands Volksempfänger, 301 represents 01/30/1933 which was the date that Hitler seized power and the W is the alternating current version. The new German government wanted to get a radio in every home for the purpose to transmit propaganda. This radio was mass produced by several companies to the same government Specifications. The radio uses tuned radio frequency circuitry which was in 1933 old technology but this helped keep the costs low. The tube line up is REN 904 triode regeneration, RES 164 pentode audio amp, and RGN 354 half-wave rectifier. The radio has two bands the first band covers 150KC - 530KC and the second band covers 455KC - 1800KC. I have not started any restoration as I am still looking for tubes and a bakelite cabinet. | |||
